We want to open  the Llys Nini site to the community, so that they can enjoy the green space and learn about the environment and wildlife.

 

We aim to be a real community resource, protecting and enhancing the local environment, opening our site for the enjoyment of the local and wider community and supporting the local economy.We have proposed project to to further enhance the site.

 

This is a major project for us and the local community and we want to ensure that Llys Nini’s proposals will benefit the people and environment of Penllergaer, Pontliiw and the wider community.The project proposals:

 

Enhance and develop a wet meadow habitat to provide additional habitats for otter, possibly water vole, some bird species and aquatic invertebrates.

 

To have public access to the newly created wetland, with hides and viewing points for the public.Build a board walk through our wet woods for people, including those with reduced mobility, to get closer to nature.

 

To upgrade some of the current mown paths to stone paths to improve access across the site.Build a sensory trail to people with sensory impairments can enjoy Llys Nini.

 

To develop the community heritage orchard.

 

Build a heritage based adventure playgroundfor children to enjoy and encourage them to play out doorsso children and adults can learn more about our rich local heritage.

 

To plant a living maze.

 

To make Llys Nini a destination attraction to bring more people to Llys Nini and to the area to help economic development.
